The cueSim helicopter FTD and FFS B has been specifically designed to meet JAR-FSTD H.
The helicopter FTD is suitable for:
• Recurrent Training
• Instrument rating revalidation and renewal
• Recency
• CRM Training
• LOFT (Route and area familiarisation)
• Multi-Crew Cooperative Training (MCC) Type training testing and checking (level 3 & FS B only)
The potential also exists to dual qualify the device as FTD 3 and FS B. The helicopter FTD is a type representative device designed to provide the broadest range of training capability.The FTD can be supplied as a fixed base device or with motion whilst the FS B is supplied with a level B compliant 6 DoF electric motion platform. All devices as standard have high resolution visual systems 60HZ image generation with a field of view (FoV) 60 deg vertical (+20 -40) and horizontal FoV of 210 deg.
cueSim's modular approach to simulator construction and to the software driving the simulator means the maximum possible allowance has been made for reconfigurability and commonality of hardware and software between the various systems making up the helicopter FTD environment.
The helicopter FTD is constructed in a way that allows the cockpit to be easily removed and alternative cockpits to be installed. This creates the possibility of multiple type representative cockpits to be used within a single simulator infrastructure thereby greatly reducing costs.
